Dr. Perminder Bains
MD, FRCP(C)
Dr. Bains has been a lifelong scholar at UBC. He completed his Medical School from UBC and then completed his Internal Medicine residency. Subsequently, he completed his Cardiology specialization with a further fellowship in Heart Failure all from UBC.
He practices general Cardiology with a focus on Heart Failure.
Dr. Hardeep Bhugra
MD, FACC
Dr. Bhugra is a triple board certified General Cardiologist with specialties in Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Cardiac CT. He studied Internal Medicine at the University of Seattle and completed his Cardiology fellowship at Rush University and Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
Since 2012, he has served as a recognized Staff Cardiologist for Fraser Health Authority.
Dr. Andy Dhaliwal
MD, FRCP(C)
Dr. Dhaliwal obtained his medical degree from the University of British Columbia. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Saskatchewan. He returned to UBC for his Cardiology residency and completed his fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant.
As a heart failure specialist, he will play a prominent role in the oversight of the Heart Function Clinic at ARHCC. He has a particular interest in management of patients with advanced heart failure and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy (e.g., hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloidosis, cardiac sarcoidosis, cardio-oncology etc.)
Dr. Nader Elmayergi
MBBCh, FRCP(C), FACC, FASE
Dr. Elmayergi is the Head of Department at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Center and a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC. He trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology from University of Alberta and further did a Cardiology Fellowship from University of Toronto.
Dr. Elmayergi loves to teach and has written a number of manuscripts for training of future physicians.
Dr. Osama Gusbi
MD, FRCP(C)
Dr. Gusbi did his Internal Medicine residency from Albany Medical College in New York. He specialized in Cardiology from UBC. He also did a fellowship in Echocardiography from UBC. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Echocardiography.
Dr. Navraj Malhi
MD, FRCP(C)
Dr. Malhi completed the entirety of his medical training at the University of British Columbia, which has included Medical school, Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship. Subsequent to this, he completed further subspecialty training in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention at UBC. He practices general Cardiology with a focus on Cardiovascular prevention and complex lipidology.
Dr. Saman Rezazadeh
MD, PhD, FRCP(C)
Dr. Rezazadeh did his PhD focusing on cardiac electrophysiology at UBC. Following this, he entered medical school and then internal medicine training at UBC. He then moved to Calgary for his fellowship in Cardiology, and thereafter sub-specializing in clinical electrophysiology.
He has held multiple research awards over the years, including heart and stroke foundation doctoral award, Canadian cardiovascular society research award and Cardiac arrhythmia network of Canada award. He has published a number of basic science and clinical research papers over the years.
Dr. Naser Sayeh
MD, FRCP(C)
Dr. Sayeh trained at McMaster University for Internal Medicine and specialized in Cardiology from University of British Columbia. He is one of the first Cardiologists to work in Abbotsford and was the Head of Department of Cardiology at ARHCC for over 10 years.
Dr. Sayeh is passionate about teaching and regularly works with residents and other medical trainees. He specializes in treating all acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
